PLAYSOFFS 2014!
Last Friday night, the Temple Wildcats won the
17-5A District Championship!
A big congratulations to my favorite Coach and all of those hard working coaches and kids that have made the 2014 season a success! Your dedication, determination and discipline have not gone unnoticed. In fact, your inspire those who know you best, by simply being you. Thank you for being great leaders, for thinking right and making good choices!...and thank you for being patient
with those who have not learned what it takes to be a champion.
Tomorrow night, you will battle your next opponent, A & M Consolidated at Texas State University! You, along with 64 other Texas high schools will kick off the 2014 Playoffs! What an amazing opportunity lies before you. I know Coach Spradlin thinks you have what it takes to win it all, but you will have to win them one game at a time. It won't be easy, but nothing about football is...and that's why you play it. Because, you are that kind of person!
It's time! Go be great! The Wildcat's are coming!

Spring Football!
Blue chairs......
Blue swing!
And the biggest blue of all can be found on the campus of Temple High School. Welcome to Wildcat Stadium!
Is this the coolest stadium in Texas, or what?
We know how to fill it up on Friday nights too! There's no place on earth we'd rather be...
The 2013 Wildcat Football Team is gearing up for a new season. After a strong off season, they are sure so put their best foot forward during the next 29 days. There's plenty of excitement! With strength and experience the Wildcats are looking great! News Flash: In case you haven't heard, Junior QB Chad President, has committed to Baylor! Way to go, Chad! We are so proud of you!

Rested and Ready!
As you might expect, being the head football coach and athletic director of a 5-A Texas high school can be pretty stressful. in fact, it's pretty non-stop demanding. Year round. Between boys and girls, football, basketball, baseball, softball, powerlifting, soccer and track it's hard to find time to relax. Saturdays are typically another work day. So when the opportunity to relax presents itself you have to cease it!
Coach loves to fish! He always has. Way back in high school, after working a summer job at Wynnewood Garden Center, he and his best friend Curtis Ward, put their hard earned money together and bought a 14ft. Skeeter. It was the beginning of a lifetime love of fishing. Bass fishing, to be exact!
doubleheader |
It's been over ten years since Coach owned a bass boat, but back in January, when he got the to buy another, I was all for it! After all, a man that works this hard needs to relax a little and what better way than to spend time in the great outdoors. Soaking up sunshine and communing with nature, is good for the soul.
Father/Son fishing, fun! |
Chilling and watching the Masters golf tournament...even caught a nap:)
My first Hybrid! |
A big small mouth, post spawn - Lake Belton |
Check out this big fish!
Long walks on the beach....
...and watching waves
fishing with family and friends has refreshed Coach Spradlin and left him refreshed for a new season!

2012 Wildcat Football Banquet
Tonight is the 2012 Temple Wildcat Football Banquet. Everything is set and ready to go. Thanks to all the amazing Quarterback Club! What an enthusiastic, tireless group of ‘true blue’ & white supporters! It’s one of many things that make Temple, Texas special. This close-knit community is excited about their “Wildcats” and the Football Banquet, is steeped in rich tradition. With a lot of team work, just look at what they have put together for tonight. The kids will love it!
The coaches table displays old photos of the Wildcat football coaches.
Every year the cheerleaders paint a huge sign and hang it on this wall. Next football season, they will hold it up for the team to run through.
The Wildcat Wall od Fame!
The football players, cheerleaders, trainers, filmer’s and coaches pictures are spread all over town but tonight they’re all under one roof. At the end of the banquet, everyone takes them home.
Another tradition. Never forget:
The best programs ever!
Celebrating the 2012 Temple Wildcats!
Coaches, Trainers, Filmers and Cheerleaders:
And don’t forget the pillow cases! Aren’t they fun? Every year these thoughtful girls make one of these for every player and coach. I’m impressed and so touched by this gesture.
Oh! We can’t forget the Fat Boys BBQ and the famous Ye Old English Bakery cake table!
It’s going to be a great night!
